Sinking Maldives Archipelago
May 10th, 2009 by Webmaster

If predictions by the International Panel on Climate Change are correct, most of Maldives’ 1,192 islands will be submerged by the end of the century. This is due to the rising sea levels as ice caps melt.

Visit Maldives fast, before it disappears. This is a paradise faced with extinction.

Maldivians are depressingly aware, their ultimate fate lies in the hands of politicians in Delhi, Beijing, Moscow and Washington.

In the past, Maldivians uses the “Nakiy”, a centuries-old weather guide based on stellar constellations. The climate change has made this guide all but irrelevant.

The weather here is becoming more volatile and less predictable. The alignment of the stars no longer offers much guidance.
