Exercise and Fitness

A healthy and a regular Exercise and Fitness regime are essential to a person's Physical and Mental Wellness too. We usually consider Exercise and Fitness activities as a part of Physical activities. Physical activities produce overall benefits vis-à-vis physical, mental, and social.

Children of parents who appreciate team sports are more likely to get involved in sports and spend less time on the computer or watching television. These children are physically more active. Research has confirmed that it is good for parents to adopt a positive attitude toward all forms of vigorous physical activities for their children.

According to the American Heart Association, physical activity helps with:

  • controlling weight;

  • reducing blood pressure;

  • raising HDL ("good") cholesterol;

  • reducing the risk of diabetes and some kinds of cancer;

  • improved overall well-being, including gaining more self-confidence and higher self-esteem; and

  • increased life expectancy.

We will appreciate the benefits of the regular body movements perhaps only when we are immobilized due to accidents or sickness.
